The Council states: "It is impossible to avoid having signal poles in the footway" - and that is where they put them. Arbury Road is the direct link between the new cycle bridge and the Arbury Park development and supposed to be turned into a cycle friendly route.

PUFIN upgrade (Q/2007) to current design standards (previous #11673). Traffic light pole right in the cycle way. Cyclists and pedestrians lanes with tactile slays. By design cyclists are forced into the way of pedestrians.

Theoretical 1500mm wide on pavement 2-way cycletrack. The railing, which is currently taking off about 400mm could be removed with the upgrade to the pedestrian crossing.
